Teenage Engineering | Speakers | OB-4

braun.

nagra.

your mom’s picnic basket.

these are some of the things the ever-ingenious swedes at teenage engineering told us they thought about when making these speakers. playful accents throughout.

a timely addition to the smokey summer to come!

that’s not brautwurst and mergez you’re smelling, it’s miles of canadian black spruce burning to a crisp and sauntering down to burn your eyes and choke your cats. i don’t buy into urban outdoors activities as it stands, unless it’s a bistrot in paris or a brownstone stoop back in 2014 with a box of sunrise mart sashimi in my claws. i’ll bike home and strengthen my lungs as i look forward to blasting “all the things she said” on my 7.2. surround array of ob-4s with the windows open. clapping for the essential workers and yelling “hate has no home here” and “what’s your number, sweetheart” to every cutie that walks by.

de torres | Sade | nothing can come between us

it’s the feeling i’ve got right now.

but so often, how steadfast i should be. and the tired presses against the weak. the faint’ the brittle. come back to me, i would have to say so. even if it meant nothing to you. they’re just words. they burn some clarity away from assumption.

rightfully so, though once they are mine i make them what i want them to be.

or do you not think those things? or that none of this ever happened? instead that i was just so wrong, so plainly false. that i lived something flashing along a blunt edge, something in passing I held so close. placed a mark so off i could not walk it back. and that you gave it no second thought. that you did not leave at all. that could be possible too, i guess, and time makes me only wonder. is this still brave? do you need me more at all? maybe you know just how much I can hold and have never doubted. so you do not worry. and when you come back, i would not ever have either. you would find me as i said, calm. patient. proper. because I’d be right then, that i was once again foolish. pretending to something foreign only totally. and that is why. like a return. something i should expect to happen. and maybe you would never ask what i did in the meantime. and we would not wonder. that I could tell you i will not ask you either. and that would make you certain. that you would be sure to never again. because we are bound. by some glad marrow.

in a breathless cadence

for you to keep. i have all i can hold already. place them in my arms. like so. and it would feel like that i’m sure if this was ours. by lsd

if you are a palestinian thats fond of the rave scene, you might find yourself climbing over the eight-meter wall, illegally entering israeli territory to listen to some beats.

samas sets now reach viewing numbers that exceeded the organizers expectations. stepping into the playing grounds of boiler rooms top tier acts.

introduced to techno at age 16, she discovered more of the scene when moving to beirut to study sound design before moving to egypt to work in film making. she heard from a friend about a french festival, palest’in & out, which showcases palestinian artists in france. naturally she left to paris where she was quickly offered a six month residency, performing for crowds of 1000+.

in our ears

this is ‘theme no.1’ by balmorhea, off their ‘rivers arms’ album. it is rare these days that we come across such ambient, nostalgic, mood moving music. i can put this on repeat, it’s that good.

unfortunately, this youtube video is not the official video for the track but it still delivers the score for you to mellow out to. it also may make you want to watch gus van sant’s ‘good will hunting.’ to hear more checkout their website here. enjoy. by kgb

an absolutely incredible tumblr i was introduced to by an equally incredible human being.  i grew up immersed in the world of charlie brown, the van pelts and their other assorted playfellows; not to mention my gothically induced adolescence and soft spot for mr. steven patrick morrissey himself.  the combination of sketches and lyrics is certainly a winner.
