man about town – gem magazine
bought the magazine man about town (sorry couldn’t find a website to link to) yesterday after everyone told me about it, and i have to say that is one of the nicest piece of stack printed paper i’ve seen in a long time. it’s beautifully designed by the great french guys at “atelier franck durand” and it is put together by ex-numero philippe utz. only great articles, genius contributors, killer look, daring interviews, nice printing… is that enough?
feel like a bowl of fresh air in the sea of sameness that is the fashion mag business.
even the fashion stories are great, which is really difficult for men. on top of that, cocorico, this numero is about… paris! lovely! dd, let me tell you that you will die for this mag. by pp’

enormous champions tea towels
these hand printed towels by enormous champion (brooklyn, new york) are super cute. got two for my little 4 year old loves. made in the USA on 100% belgian linen. the linens are a lovely shade of natural “oyster”, and silkscreened with a warm grey ink. they look just as good, used as hand towel, or simply framed. $25 each… a bit steep but worth it to me. thanx pp. by xy

apple store – london
is your iphone stealing your content and sharing it?
oooouch!! no one told me about that. “your smart phone applications are watching you – much more closely than you might like. lookout inc., a mobile-phone security firm, scanned nearly 300,000 free applications for apple inc.’s iPhone. it found that many of them secretly pull sensitive data off users’ phones and ship them off to third parties without notification. the data can include full details about users’ contacts, their pictures, text messages and internet and search histories. the third parties can include advertisers and companies that analyze data on users. the information is used by companies to target ads and learn more about their users. the danger, though, is that the data become vulnerable to hacking and use in identity theft if the third party isn’t careful about securing the information”. read more. by xy

riccardo tisci – a magazine – curated by
came across this nice issue of the wonderful “a magazine”. the guest editor in chief was givenchy’s riccardo tisci and the aesthetic is a little dark but the overall piece is really beautiful. feels really refreshing to have a magazine that is not $50, not filled with crap ads and totally editorial free… that was released some years ago so there is very little chance to buy it anywhere but that is not the only purpose of things, right? by pp’
bouroullec’s brother – galerie kreo
i was in paris not so long ago ( it actually feels like ages now) and as always when there, galerie kreo is a stop you can’t miss. the bouroullec brother’s were on view there and their lights and shelf were amazing. the lamps are all made out of leather, done in such a refined way you would think any luxury bag is crap next to it. the shelf are nice too but less impressive, just an eye candy
