machine learning (incorrectly referred to as artificial intelligence) is like a child.

the base is built by parents (the programmer) and as it grows (ages) it builds on that base. it makes mistakes and it learns from it, just like a child. so if the parents are white supremacists, more than likely the child grows to become one.

the hope is that the child is exposed to other ideas and open enough to let those other ideas influence its thinking. the same hope exists for machine learning. by fe
