Pablo Sarasate’s ‘Romanza andaluza’ by leonid kogan
i was browsing this amazing list of classical composers organized by era, and the romantics brought me to something very nice for sunday. the orchestra is a little pompy, but leonid kogan’s violin is so simultaneously delicate and strong i had to share. by kl

$12,925: one of the most expensive bottles of champagne ever sold at auction
while the worlds oldest champagne (170 years old, discovered by divers uncovering a shipwreck in the baltic sea in 2010) was sold for a “novelty” (not drink-ability), price of 30,000 euros the krug bottle is just under 65 years old. the single bottle of a 1953, champagne krug clos du mesnil sold for $12,925. that’s $2,154 dollars a glass. silly. on another note a 1998 vintage clos du mesnil can be had for a bargain price of $799. buy one today. sell in 65 years. beat the stock market. by xy

cafe falai – nudi
well actually that’s “gnudi” sir for you… and falai on lafayette street in NYC has the best of the best. it’s the only dish i order there every single time. ad a nice glass of red and sit outside and your lunch is set. unlike gnocchi, cousin gnudi (pronounced “nu-dee”), is sans potato, just spinach and ricotta cheese and pure goodness. my mouth is watering now. by dd
