two prophets: albert interprets fyodor

camus discusses his interpretation of fyodor dostoevsky’s the possessed (also known as the devils, or demons) into a play.  the bon vivant says here that, “prophetic things tend to become topical” …i would say the opposite is also apparent.  this is for those who think too much, as well as the ones who don’t think enough. by sv

nina nina

my personal nina simone marathon is continuing.  almost two weeks now.  she’s looking pretty fancy here.  not the best live performance, but regardless, one of my favorite songs.  so much love for this enchanting creature. by sv

Amon tobin: live

i am taking everyone to see this on friday in berkeley CA. i am very excited. here is the trailer for amon tobin’s all new, highly ambitious, breathtaking live show.

“tobin will be stepping away from previous DJ centric performances, and instead will be providing a large scale live audio/visual experience to select cities around the world.” by ht

Jiro Dreams of Sushi

i so wanted to see this in theaters, but as usual missed finding the time to go. i saw it last night finally on netflix and loved it. a definite yes for anyone who loves sushi… or simply those who are passionate about anything in life. i so love japan—it’s civilization at its peak, and we are all peasants in comparison. by dd

let it all be, laura palmer

someone had a lot of free time on their hands but i am sure thrilled they did because i could watch this on a loop.  some favorite twin peaks scenes to the tune of the melvins ‘let it all be’.  personally, i could use some more audrey, but that’s just me being biased and craving saddle shoes.  time to re-watch the entire series? maybe. by sv

klaxons orgy

a very odd video by our friends at blind pig and absolute, directed by saam farahmand for the klaxons track “twin flames”. be prepared for nudity, exchanges of bodily fluids, and mutating group makeouts. by m+m
