R.I.P. michael jackson

i always wished for those lanky daddy long legs of his, but i was never a fan. owned ‘off the wall’ at some point, and never another album, but you can’t deny his genius! an amazing dancer, a gentle being, not a child molester. different of course, but no more of a freak than pamela anderson or tom cruise, and at least jackson had a reason to be strange, plus he delivered something unlike the other two losers… and for those of you who want to know the truth about all the stories may we suggest this documentary. by dd

Hercules Aaron Neville

I always loved this track, one of those oddities that stands alone and some how creeps up in all the odd places. here’s a fun home made video that I found for the track staring in mean streets. talk about rare grooves. by dd

for george

this short film by fellini is a masterpiece for me, with actor terence stamp, ray charles on the sound track and a spirit that is more punk than the pistols themselves. this particular scene simply never left me! you have to understand what she says to appreciate the gravity of the scene. find an italian immediately. the other two shorts by vadim and malle in the spirit of the dead (3 tales by edgar allan poe) are to be discarded. read more about it in this article by george porcari. by dd

I’m a victim of this song

i’m a bit over it, but i loved it when i first heard it. if you have never heard this cover,be patient at least until you get to 3:15: …that’s when things get interesting. performed by swiss born nutcase/celebrated artist pipilotti rist with many thanx to our pp for his enlightenment. by dd

song of the day

i’ve been listening to planet caravan by black sabbath actually, but couldn’t find a live performance to show. instead, here is another amazing song perfect for today… ‘babe i’m gonna leave you’ by led zeppelin. by kl

Egill Sæbjörnsson

egill saebjornsson

i was introduced to egill sæbjörnsson on a trip to reykjavik iceland where I got a cd performance of this artist (who also sometimes sings), from bad taste records (Smekkleysa) the owner Einar Örn Benediktsson (of the sugarcubes)  the album was titled “tonk of the town.”  great set of tracks if you can find a copy.  egill plays all instruments and sings on the album, the low-tech production work is key, and the content is rather whimsical and easy.  it is a breath of fresh air in the world of the ‘too cool for school’ art industry. the lyrics are literally grabbed from the air, words he heard at a bar, lyrics to a song he thought was thin lizzy but later found out otherwise… this piece posted here, is more of a performance piece than a song, so don’t mix the two mediums. i simply cant find anything on him, but felt he deserved a spot on tomorrow started, so don’t just take my word for it, look it up for yourself: egill sæbjörnsson “tonk of the town”. by dd

Audio video mobile architecture

redesigning your stogy office? that penthouse apt you just bought at half the price? well the idea in trak-kit can change the entire way we interact with technology. the possibilities seem rather endless when you consider how this can apply not only to television screens and computer screens which have dominated our offices and homes, but how walls and elements can become modular and movable. trak-kit could have only been the brain child of a new york city architect who is aware of the limited spaces we have, and an aesthetic from a city that sets the standard for the rest of the world. the exclusivity and the price tags may contain trak-kit to the uber lux apartments, high-end hotels, state of the art tele conference rooms, and designer corporate offices for now, but with time and its expansion it will surely become available for everyone. architecture and rendering by shadi and company. by av
