hmmmm…lanvin dance contest… i’m sure it will work and do very well given the audience, even though they may not be the actual clientele of lanvin. i saw this, over the weekend when a friend was bragging how great it was. i’m not 100% convinced, but i do like the fact that it breaks with stogy world of fashion and brings some lightness and fun into fashion. now while albaz is a cooky, fun fellow, the brand isn’t. H&M pulled it off well on the lanvin, lagerfeld, and viktor & rolf spots, i think this video which is a complete reference to burning rocks (fassbinders script) which we had posted ages ago. it’s not executed as well as it could have been, and places the lanvin house line quite close to the H&M lanvin line, and that is not very brilliant. by dd

Kale Teter: Do we have a winner?
months ago NARS cosmetics launched a contest online for the best makeup talent to match a look. the site www.makeupyourmind.com got flooded with millions of hits from across the world by pros and non pros. one of our friends took the challenge so we kept up with her, egging her on. but the irony of it all is that at the end, kale teter, a boy, appears to be the real winner based on our assessment of his total votes, and he rocked it too. based on the rules of the game if he indeed wins, he will get a trip to new york with a friend, with hotel car and meals included and not only receive a lick-able NARS make up set, but also get to go backstage during fashion week and hang with the cream on top. not bad for a boy from texas… girls we are disappointed with the “all of youz”… the world is obviously ruled by men, once again. NARS is supposed to release the winners soon so keep an eye all you people. site idea, design and production by new york luxury agency ceft and company. by cm

prada: this fall’s creatures
ok, so i first saw this fall’s little fashion film for prada with the introduction about how sexy it was, i was not impressed with much more than the coloring. but i must say, i love a different approach to sexiness; slow movement, extreme delicacy, and being in your own world. worth the 1:19 of your life. by kl
