i’m generally not a fan of michael wolf photos that are generally too gimmicky for me, but i have to admit he has a point here. to “photograph” a city through the street view option of google maps is something everybody though about but he manage to do it pretty well. nice by pp
on top of being nyc star last week with the most crowded opening ever, ryan mcginley released this beautiful book, published in association with the great dashwood books store on bond street to celebrate “everybody knows this is nowhere”.
haven’t seen it for real (as the exhibition, see photo…) but looks really nice. by pp
i can’t believe i haven’t made it down to TEAM gallery to see this show in person yet. it may sound cliché to say ryan mcginley has a knack for capturing ‘modern beauty’, but i think it’s true. it’s plain to see this series freezes a taste of the vibe of people today, something we will feel more intensely when some time has passed. as for his images, it’s a beautiful evolution. by kl

this man is one of my all time heroes, and i must say that i don’t have many heroes really. of course i’m not talking about the one dressed up in the picture, but rather the artist geroge porcari. the openning is on march 27th (exhibit up through april 17th) china art objects 410 cottage home street, chinatown, los angeles. by dd

i was rather disappointed that women’s shoes did not make their natural transformation into actual hoofs in this last season. there may be still some hope. we have been told that jesus has delayed his arrival for the time being. by dd
also, since we’re in the cinema section, the movie i saw yesterday was logorama, the short animated movie that won the oscar. that was really cool and i was kind of proud as the guys who made the film (h5) went to the same school as i did!…
for the ones interested, here’s a funny bit, one of the first jobs these guys ever done was the video clip for alex gopher “the child” which is not very far from logorama after all. by pp
saw the trailer of this movie yesterday at ifc… looks really great and it seems important to support those guys. must see by pp
