MIRROR MIRROR

i saw this gorgeous mirror designed by jacques adnet and wanted one, then i read a little bit about it and wanted it even more.

in 1950, adnet formed a partnership with the french fashion house, hermes, where he developed a collection of leather-covered furniture and interior accessories, including a distinctive leather mirror with brass hinges. besides the remarkable leather and brass details, the adnet mirror is also unique as the strap that holds the mirror is in direct proportion to the dimension of the mirror.

what the F#@K is a coa track?

remember when suddenly everything started to have its name spelled out on it? like a cup with the word “cup” on it? “soap dish”. “pillow”. endless shit. what the hell was that about? like you’re not gonna know what a fucking cup is? hating aside (and you should see this hater if you haven’t) this is the coolest coat rack i’ve seen after this one, i just still don’t know what to do with it. by dd

time to change your clock: alvin aronson mechanical corian wall clock

the d/a clock: corian, steel mechanics, electronics

the mechanized segments of this digital clock slowly protrude from the surface to reveal the current time. when a segment retracts, it disappears seamlessly into the face of the clock. the slowly transitioning segments lend the clock a physical dimension as well as a fluid animated quality, resulting in an object that exists somewhere between the analog and digital realms. design by alvin aronson. by dd

nude can: coca cola goes naked

someone told me recently that i should have bought some coca cola stocks as coke, along with cockroaches, are the sure things to survive all despite the economy. i replied “but coca cola stocks… sucks”. then i found this. an embossed logo substitutes colorfully sprayed coca cola red. the naked can not only looks sexy it helps in reducing air and water pollution that usually occurs in the coloring process. it also reduces energy and effort to separate toxic color paint from aluminum in recycling process. double win for a sugary, useless product that should not exist to begin with. now that’s a little better but still not sure about the stocks. by dd

kill your idols – marc atlan

a little bit of graphic designer talk here. i’m sure i’m not the only one who ever felt disappointed by someone you looked up to. well  that happened to me lately. not that i was ever a die hard fan of art director marc atlan’s work but i was definetely sensitive to the esthetic and how disappointed i am to read his interview here and finding him so arrogant and appearing like an asshole…  by pp.
